Hon. Chidi Obetta, the Federal Representative for Igboeze South/Nsukka, has distributed 100 solar-powered irrigation pumps to farmers in his constituency. This initiative, supported by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), aims to boost agricultural productivity and promote sustainable development.

The pumps, paired with three solar panels each, will provide reliable energy for irrigation, improving crop yields and reducing production costs. This move is expected to enhance food security, promote clean energy adoption, and empower rural communities economically.

Obetta emphasized his commitment to uplifting farmers and strengthening livelihoods, aligning with the REA's efforts to expand clean energy access and rural productivity. Similar initiatives have shown promise in boosting agricultural output and reducing carbon footprint in other parts of Nigeria.
