The creation of Adada State, touted as the 6th State of South East, has gained significant momentum, with indigenes clamoring for its establishment. The demand for Adada State is driven by the need for equitable development and representation in the region.

The South East Traditional Rulers, led by Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu, Chairman of Enugu Traditional Rulers, have thrown their weight behind the creation of Adada State. Igwe Asadu met with Alex Ogechukwu, Secretary of Unify Igbos Now, to discuss Adada State, Igbo unity, and the inclusion of Kogi/Benue in Adada State.

The proposed Adada State is expected to address the imbalance in state distribution in the South East, where the region currently has only five states. The creation of Adada State would reunify Igbo communities separated by colonial-era boundaries and provide opportunities for economic development, cultural preservation, and political representation.

The agitation for Adada State has garnered support from various stakeholders, including government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders. The Enugu State Government has demonstrated its commitment to the creation of Adada State, with Governor Peter Mbah pledging support for the initiative.
