The Modupe and Folorunso Alakija Medical Research and Training Hospital (MOFAMRTH) was officially handed over to Osun State University (UNIOSUN) in a ceremony marking a significant milestone in Nigeria's healthcare sector. The 250-bed hospital, valued at N70 billion, is equipped with cutting-edge medical facilities, including research laboratories, operating theatres, and diagnostic imaging equipment.

This generous donation is considered one of the largest single philanthropic gestures in Nigeria's history. The Alakija family, led by Apostle Dr. Folorunso Alakija, Chancellor of UNIOSUN, built the hospital to strengthen Nigeria's healthcare system through education, innovation, and community service.

UNIOSUN's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, hailed the donation as a "timeless legacy" that will benefit generations to come. The hospital will provide advanced training for medical professionals, enhance research capabilities, and improve healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
