A decades-long boundary dispute over Ette Community has been resolved, with the National Boundary Commission (NBC) affirming its administrative jurisdiction falls under Kogi State.

In a letter dated December 7, 2025, the NBC referenced a map submitted on July 14, 2025, which officially places Ette Community within Kogi State's boundaries.

The commission has directed the Enugu State Government to halt all activities in the area, including a scheduled chieftaincy coronation on December 29, 2025. Kogi State Government has been instructed to take full responsibility for the community's security and administration.

Local Enugu officials have accepted the ruling, pledging to adhere to the commission's decision, bringing an end to the longstanding disagreement.
