Nigeria has finalized a landmark deal with Italy's Leonardo S.p.A. to purchase 24 M-346FA light fighter aircraft, valued at €1.2 billion. The agreement includes long-term maintenance and support services, ensuring operational efficiency for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
The deal marks the largest military aircraft acquisition in West Africa, with initial production already underway. Deliveries are expected to commence soon, with three aircraft slated for delivery in 2025 and the full fleet to be delivered by mid-2026.
