Rev. Fr. Edward Daleng, an Augustinian priest from Plateau State, Nigeria, has been appointed as the new Vice-Regent of the Pontifical Household by Pope Leo XIV. This role is equivalent to a Deputy Chief of Staff, and Fr. Daleng will be responsible for the Pope's non-liturgical and administrative affairs, including audiences, official visits, and organizing the papal household.
Born on April 4, 1978, in Yitla'ar, Kwalla, Plateau State, Fr. Daleng was ordained a priest in 2005 and holds a doctorate in moral theology from the Alphonsian Academy, Rome (2012). Prior to his appointment, he served as General Counsellor and Procurator General of the Order of Saint Augustine, representing the congregation in official dealings with the Vatican.
